Euromed Audiovisual in its 3rd phase has a budget of €11 million over 4 years (2011-2014) and funds six projects aimed at developing the film and audiovisual sector in 10 South Mediterranean countries (Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria and Tunisia). Euromed Audiovisual aims at enhancing sustainable transfer of knowledge and best practices through a wide set of trainings, capacity building of both professionals and national authorities and networking activities. Euromed Audiovisual considers the film industry not only as creative means of cultural expression and intercultural dialogue, but also of socio-economic development of the region.
The programme has operated in two separate previous phases: Euromed Audiovisual I (2000-2005) and Euromed Audiovisual II (2006-2009). Both were focused on reinforcing intercultural dialogue & promoting exchanges across the Mediterranean, helping professionals get training and develop, distribute and promote their works internationally.
