Palestine's Insan human rights film fest seeks films

Palestine’s Insan Human Rights Film Festival, whose fourth edition is to take place in Ramallah from September 11 to 16, is currently seeking human rights-related narrative feature and documentary films produced in 2012 or 2013.

As well as open air film screenings, the festival will include a three-day filmmaking workshop, a one day workshop on lights and camera for children, a screenplay writing seminar, a women’s rights seminar and a discussion panel.

The festival is also to tour in four other Palestinian cities.

The festival's organiser, the Palestinian Social Cinema Arts Association (PSCAA), believes in the importance of cinema as a means to develop youth and spread the culture of non-violence, tolerance and reconciliation. Cinema is a unique form because it is able to transcend illiteracy.
