MADE in MED talents arrive in Cannes

The three Arab filmmakers who won Euromed Audiovisual's MADE in MED short film contest have arrived in Cannes to promote their films at the festival's Short Film Corner!

At the festival, filmmakers Ahmed Hermassi from Tunisia, Mohamad El-Wassify from Egypt and Jalal Maghout from Syria will be able to meet film professionals from all over the world, to exchange ideas and perhaps even to help advance their careers.

All three filmmakers hail from Arab countries that are still experiencing the consequences of historical popular uprisings. While Mohamad El-Wassify's endearing short The House Game is not overtly political, Ahmed Hermassi's stop animation short Wall Asks: Okay? and Jalal Maghout's animation film Canvas on Mixed Media are inspired by these events.

Euromed Audiovisual has also invited the winner of the Libya Movie Awards, English-Libyan filmmakerNaziha Arebi, with her short Between The Ropes in Cannes.
