Dubai Film Connection co-production market calls for entries

Arab filmmakers are invited to submit the feature-length fiction and documentary film projects in development to this year's Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF)'s Dubai Film Connection (DFC) co-production market.

Teams of a director and a producer may apply. The director must be of Arab nationality or origin, while the producer can be of any nationality. The submission deadline is August 1.

Launched in 2007, the DFC aims to raise the visibility of Arab filmmakers and stimulate the growth of film production originating from the Arab world. The DFC brings international and Arab film professionals together to collaborate on the realisation of approximately 15 selected projects each year.

An annual guest list of more than 80 international film industry professionals from over 20 countries are invited to attend the DFC each year. In addition, the combined value of the DFC awards now stands at more than $100,000.

The Dubai Festival co-production market is crowned with success every year. It has so far selected over 90 projects, of which several have already been released and praised by international film critics, reaching many different audiences throughout the world.
