Among the list of eligible countries, 8 countries from the South Mediterranean region (Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Syria and Tunisia) can submit their projects.
The purpose for establishing the Norwegian South Film Fund is to provide support for the production of films (documentary or fiction films) that would otherwise not be made in countries with limited film production.
The South Film Fund shall contribute to strengthening freedom of expression, fostering film as an international narrative tradition, and support diversity and artistic integrity in the international film environment. Up to Euro 500 000 are available for support from the Norwegian South Film Fund in 2012.
Maximum support for one production is 125 000 Euros. A 10 % overhead is to be granted to the minority producer in order to cover administration expenses. A desicion can be expected in 4 to 6 weeks. There will be one application date per year.

A Pitching Forum will be organised on 11th – 12th October 2012, in the framework of the Films from the South film festival. Application form will be released on this website on June 1st at the latest. Deadline for application will be on September 10.
Selection of projects will be announced no later than September 20.
