Call for films for the PriMed, International festival of mediterranean documentary film and reportage

For its 17th edition which will take place in Marseille (France) from June 17 to 21, 2013, the PriMed - International Festival of Mediterranean Documentary Film and Reportage launches a call for films.

The PriMed is open to all directors, producers and distributors who, through their programmes or films, contribute to a better understanding of the countries of the Mediterranean basin in its widest sense, from the Atlantic coasts to the Black Sea. 

The audiovisual works presented should be about the culture, heritage, history, societies and life of the men and women living in Mediterranean countries.  They must not contain any form of advertising or propaganda. 

Each work can only be entered for one category, and the choice must be clearly indicated in the application form. Registration for the PriMed is free.

 

Nine Awards are given to the films in competition:

  • Grand Prix “Mediterranean Challenges” (6,000 €)
  • “Mediterranean Memories” (5,000 €)
  • “First Film” (5,000 €)
  • “Mediterranean Art, Heritage and Cultures” (5,000 €)
  • “Investigative Documentary” (5,000 €)
  • Special Jury Award (5,000 €)
  • Young Persons Award (5,000 €)
  • “Mediterranean Short Doc” (2,500 €)
  • “Mediterranean Multimedia” (2,500 €)

 

Calendar of the 17th edition:

  • February 2012 : call for films
  • September 30, 2012: Deadline for registering and sending films
  • End of 2012 : an international Selection Committee choose the films which will be shown in the finals
  • From 17 to 21 June, 2013, finals of PriMed : the International Juries watch all the selected films and decide the winners; public screenings; meetings and debates; awards ceremony
