25 Mediterranean producers met on 20 March in Tunis to start developing their feature film or documentary projects there within the framework of the ACCESS training project, co-financed by the Euromed Audiovisual programme. As a result 16 documentary and 9 feature film projects have been selected to take part in the training course.
The project brings together several experts, responsible for supervising the projects throughout the training course. They include: Lebanese producer and director Dima Al Joundi, budgetary planning expert Linda Beath, producer and audiovisual contracts expert Diane Arantingi, French producer and budgeting expert Laurent Docahut, Greek producer Dionisys Samiotis, APIMED Director Sergi Doladé, Algerian new media expert Boualem Aissaoui as well as Khalil Benkiriane, head of film aid funds at the Doha Film Institute.
The participants, divided into five groups, work on the development of their projects with the help of a tutor. Individual meetings are organised in parallel with experts from a range of different fields. The ACCESS participants will take part in a second training and coaching session in June and a third « live » session in October 2012, focused on distribution, marketing and new media.
