Cinemas to generate jobs, says Algerian culture minister
Algerian cinemas are to be renovated and managed by unemployed graduates after special training

Cinemas will be taken over and renovated by the Algerian state, then managed by unemployed graduates to be trained in cinematography and management, has announced Algerian culture minister Khalida Toumi.
Once established, this network of cinemas should generate around 2,300 jobs for young unemployed graduates, she said.
“Cinemas must be returned to the film industry to contribute to cultural development, especially that of young people who don’t know anything about film,” she said.
