Euromed Audiovisual is back in Cannes!


After one year of activities, the Euromed Audiovisual III Programme is back at the Cannes Film Festival. This year, the focus will be on its capacity development support in the South Mediterranean, including policy change initiatives, institutional support, and human resource system development.

Euromed Audiovisual will hold several seminars and workshops throughout the festival, including a special presentation of results from the programme’s activities on May 21 at the Cinémas du Monde Pavillon.

 
  For the whole festival, the Euromed Audiovisual team will based at the Producers Villa, where a meeting space and free Wifi will be available for professionals from the South Mediterranean. Films can be notoriously difficult to promote. Whether you need to generate buzz, or share information about your movie, social media should be a primary weapon in your arsenal. With the power to share comes the ability to spread the word, increase awareness, and accomplish your goals. With practical tips, understand how social media can power and drive your promotional campaign.



Short biography of the speakers:


Tero Kaukomaa established his company Blind Spot Pictures in 1997. Ever since, he has produced and co-produced more than 15 feature films in several continents. He is the producer of Iron Sky, a $11 million sci-fi comedy developed, produced and launched through Crowd Funding. The movie collected more than € 300,000 and created a community of over 3,000 people around the word.

Thierry Baujard is the founder and CEO of peacefulfish, a company specialised in developing financing strategies for producers and funds involving private and public investment. Peacefulfish is also involved in the management of the MEDIA Production Guarantee Fund managed by Audiovisual SGR and aimed at facilitating access to private sources of financing for SMEs and guaranteeing part of the loan granted by financial institutions to film producers. Thierry is the author of studies realised for the European Commission about private funding and banking for the audiovisual sector. He is also Chairman of the European Media Investment Network “Media Deals” offering access to private investment for Mediatech companies.

Matthias Lavaux, is cofounder of touscoprod.com, a Crowd Funding site specialised in film projects. Since its launching in 2009, Touscoprod has assembled some 20,000 members that invested more than €800,000 in 30 movies, documentaries and short films. Among these, 3 movies have been in competition to Cannes, 3 have been nominated for the Oscars and one obtained the Golden Bear in Berlin.

Roel van de Weijer is an expert in the field of marketing and Crowd Funding. He is CEO of CineCrowd, the crowdfunding platform for Dutch cinema and he advises film producers on funding and promotion. He regularly gives workshops and lectures. Within a year, more than 18 films were produced.

Alexis de Rendinger is a veteran of CANAL+, both in Europe and the United States, Alexis combines a deep knowledge of the entertainment business with extensive relationships with the main players and executives in the digital content distribution area. Alexis has managed STUDIOCANAL’s catalogue transition to digital platforms in the United States and Canada.
