The Capacity Development Support Unit (CDSU) launched a study on financing tools for film and audiovisual productions in the South Mediterranean region.
The study, written by senior finance and strategic planning expert Linda Beath, describes more than 20 types of funding, including subsidies, tax incentives, co-production, pre-sales, investment, and crowd-funding...
It includes an impressive glossary of useful film and audiovisual financing terms, as well as recommendations to enhance film and audiovisual production in the South Mediterranean. One feature film produced per year and per million population would meet the expectations of both public and professionals, according to the expert.
The study aims to help producers plan a financing strategy for their projects, and decision-makers to develop their funding systems, as part of Euromed Audiovisual’s ongoing support to production, co-production and funding mechanisms in the region.
