The Cairo International Film Festival is launching a call for projects for the second round of the Cairo Film Connection, its co-production forum running parallel to the festival.
The Cairo Film Connection is opening its doors to international filmmakers from all over the world, who have a project with “an Egyptian connection” (director, producer, co-producer, main talent, location, or subject matter). The latter are encouraged to apply with a feature-length project either in the development or post-production phase. Feature-length creative documentaries are also encouraged to apply.
The deadline for applications is August 31, 2012.
Following the deadline, an international jury will evaluate the submissions and select a maximum of 12 projects, to include approximately eight to ten projects in development and two to four works-in-progress.
The Cairo Film Connection will then invite selected project representatives to come to Cairo for three days for one-to-one meetings with Egyptian producers, distributors, as well as with international producers, sales agents, and distributors.
