Mustafa Ori, head of the Algerian Agency for Cultural Influence

“We would really like it to return to its former role in the film industry"

Events and Festivals, Algeria

Mustafa Ori is the head of the Algerian Agency for Cultural Influence, or AARC. The agency attended the Cannes Film Festival this year to promote Algeria's films and filming locations, as well as to support 10 films at the Marché du Film, thus pushing young Algerian filmmakers under the spotlight. Ori spoke to Euromed Audiovisual about the agency's projects, including reopening 350 film theatres in Algeria.

“We have a programme to reopen film theatres in Algeria: 350 theatres are about to open this year or in the next two years.”

“We are trying to be as present as possible and to stick to Algerian filmmakers and producers’ needs and requests, because this cinema has been very important for a long time. We would really like it to return to its former role in the film industry.”
